
Description
This video safety training is designed for employees who are involved in the transport of sodium cyanide as either solution or as solid sodium cyanide briquettes.
The information in this presentation is given in good faith and for informational purposes. Much of the information comes from sources that are open and available to everyone.
This course is appropriate for use as cyanide safety training, as required by the ICMI Cyanide Code.
Upon successful completion of the short quiz at the end of the training, the participant will receive a certificate of achievement.
For Cyanide Code compliance, this training should be taken as an initial training and annual refresher training.
Objectives
The objective of this course is to inform transportation personnel about basic sodium cyanide safety hazards and precautions that should be taken in the presence of sodium cyanide. At the end of the training, learners should understand the following:
Types of sodium cyanide (solid versus liquid), what it looks like, and its properties
Safety hazards associated with sodium cyanide
Precautions to be taken when in the presence of cyanide
Signs of cyanide exposure
Basic emergency response actions
Certificate
